Markus Rex
Polar- & Klimaforscher
Rex is a polar researcher, climatologist and physicist, who is a major researcher of the climate system of the polar regions and the ozone layer.
He is professor at the University of Potsdam and heads the Atmospheric Physics Section of the Alfred Wegener Institute.
Born in Braunschweig, the physicist also heads the largest polar expedition in history.
As part of the MOSAiC expedition, he is researching the effects of climate change on the icebreaker Polarstern during an all-year expedition in the Arctic.
